About the Role
\n
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching and Learning Support Assistant Level 2 to join a supportive and inclusive school environment. This role involves working closely with teaching staff to support pupils’ learning, development, and wellbeing, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
\n
You will play a key role in ensuring pupils can access the curriculum, engage positively in the classroom, and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
\n
Supporting Pupils
\n
\n - Provide academic, social, and personal support to pupils, including those with SEND and EHCPs
\n - Assist with the delivery of tailored learning activities and targeted support programmes
\n - Support pupils’ behaviour, promoting positive attitudes and inclusion
\n - Ensure pupils’ safety, wellbeing, and access to learning at all times
\n - Assist with personal care where required, including first aid and medical needs
\n - Encourage independence, confidence, and self-reliance
\n
\n
Supporting Teaching Staff
\n
\n - Work collaboratively with teachers to plan and deliver engaging learning activities
\n - Prepare and maintain classroom resources and equipment
\n - Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers
\n - Support marking and record-keeping in line with school policies
\n - Deliver small group or one-to-one interventions
\n - Assist with assessments, routine testing, and exam invigilation
\n

Supporting the School
\n
\n - Uphold school policies relating to safeguarding, behaviour, health & safety, and confidentiality
\n - Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development
\n - Support pupils during break times, trips, and extracurricular activities
\n - Work collaboratively with staff, parents/carers, and external professionals
\n

Essential
\n
\n - Good numeracy and literacy skills
\n - Experience working with or caring for children
\n - Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
\n - Basic IT skills to support learning
\n - Strong teamwork skills and a proactive attitude
\n - Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
\n

Desirable
\n
\n - NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Teaching Assistance
\n - Experience supporting pupils with SEND
\n - Knowledge of the national curriculum and child development
\n - First Aid training or willingness to undertake training
\n
