Public Service Lecturer 0.7, 25.9 hours per week

• Deliver engaging teaching across Levels 1–5, with a primary focus on the BTEC Level 3 Public Services programme.
\n
• Teach a broad curriculum covering topics such as leadership, discipline, citizenship, behaviour, fitness and preparation for careers within the uniformed public services.
\n
• Plan and deliver high-quality learning that inspires students to achieve their full potential.
\n
• Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate student records.
\n
• Act as a personal tutor, supporting students' academic progress, wellbeing and future aspirations.
\n
• Organise and contribute to enrichment activities, employer engagement and educational visits that enhance the learner experience.
\n
• Build strong links with employers and external organisations to enrich curriculum delivery.
\n
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous quality improvement across the department.
\n
• Take on course leadership responsibilities where appropriate, depending on experience.
\n

• A degree in a relevant subject area or significant vocational experience within the public services sector.
\n
• Professional experience within the emergency services, armed forces or a related public service environment.
\n
• A recognised Level 5 teaching qualification, be working towards one, or be willing to achieve one with the College's support.
\n
• Level 2 English, Maths and ICT qualifications (or a willingness to achieve these within an agreed timeframe).
\n
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
\n
• The ability to motivate, challenge and inspire learners from a wide range of backgrounds.
\n
• A proactive, collaborative approach with a passion for helping young people achieve their ambitions.
\n
• A commitment to equality, inclusion and safeguarding.
